I use the rollers on the rear only, and saddles in front. The front is where
most of the stress is and I'm happy with the job the saddles do. In the
rear, I don't strap it down as tightly, and the locked rollers give me
plenty of support and sufficient traction. I also use webbing wrapped around
the bar so it's essentially two straps over the top of the boat.
