My limited experience with dual seat SOTs (and combined weight of approx. 300 lbs.) is as follows: Malibu - (2 person boat, but not certain of the model) very stable, tracks well on flat water and generally easy to use. Paddling into higher wind and whitecaps with a relatively flat, inefficient hull produced a VERY wet and bone-jarring ride. (I'm 6' 1" and the moulded-in footwells were short enough to make me really uncomfortable in a fairly short period of time.) Loon 138 - This was set up as a double (for rental) and while stable, it didn't have adequate legroom for either of us and didn't track well at all. Trying to coordinate paddle strokes in overly close quarters in a short boat did not produce a relaxing, fun afternoon. (Perhaps the 160 would have better tracking?) Have you considered trying out one of the Greenland II Folboats?
