Do you always have 'proper water containers' on your PFD?
If you don't have them on you then you don't have them if you get
separated from the boat.

Storing water in a condom is difficult but it is easier than holding
water in your hands.

I need to clarify what I mean by "emergency".
Being stuck on shore for several days by bad weather is NOT emergency.
If you and your boat are still intact and together it is NOT emergency.

When you are ripped out of your boat and washed up on the shore with only
what you are wearing, and you are injured, that is an Emergency.

In emergencies you find that you do lots of things that "can't be done".
