[Paddlewise] Minnesota water skiers??

I'm in L.A. and I paddle a plastic S.O.T., mostly for coastal fishing.
Thus I usually just lurk on this list. But, at risk of exposing myself
to some fiendish joke, I gotta ask about a line out of Chuck Holst's
recent lengthy post:

then back down to the put-in, keeping close to the bank for
the most part because of waterskiers.

Ahem - I believe the rest of the post is devoted to synchilla,
single-digit temperatures, ice-breaking, etc. Tell me more about these
waterskiers!
