Hi folks-

I am trying to find out what clubs (if any) in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio,
Pennsylvania, New York and Quebec offer sea kayaking trips on the Great
Lakes or St. Lawrence River. I have a great huge list of clubs from the
ACA, but most of them are listed as "canoe" clubs, which sometimes includes
sea kayaking and sometimes doesn't. Also, not all clubs are ACA chapters.
I think I already have a pretty complete list for MN, WI, MI, and Ontario.
Rather than make about 40 long distance phone calls I thought I would put
this question to the list first...

thanks,

Sarah Ohmann

Try the Great Lakes Sea Kayaking Club. They don't offer a lot of trips,
but they do some pretty good ones. The Great Lakes Sea Kayaking
Symposium, which they sponsor, is one of the best in the country. It
comes on July 22-25 this year. You can try them at:

The site is a little out of date, but most of the contact addresses are
still good. I'm impressed by their theory of organization: The club
reflects its theory of organization: "Their choice of a one, or at most
a two seat boat defines the degree of organization most sea kayakers
aspire to."
