I made my first VHF J-Pole last night and it works extremely well! I have no
signal strength meter on my radio but I was able to pick up a 2nd weather
channel (Miami) full quieting (No static) which was just barely audible on
the duck. 

I'll try some experiments this weekend and post some pictures and diagrams
on my web site next week.

Total time to make it was about 1/2 hour and cost was around $5.

BTW, my LED flashlight is still going strong. It will be 4 weeks tomorrow.

keep it, but apparently didn't. As I recall, your description was
