Someone set his LORAN to retrace his route out then proceeded to make drinks (lots) for everyone on board. At night. On the one hand many people think that paddling a boat is an instinctive skill so they never think ahead. On the other, this litigious society of ours removes any sense of responsibility from ourselves. For that reason also, people might not think ahead.
