Costco also sells bicycyles. It does not provide instruction in the safe use of a bicycle nor should we expect them to. Many, perhaps thousands, of bicycle users are killed or seriously injured each year in this country but I have yet to learn of anyone litigating against Costco [kmart,Sears,et al] because the seller failed to inform the buyer that riding a bicycle could result in death or injury to the user. And so it should be with kayaks. The user assumes complete responsibility for her personal safety. Whether this means never paddling in winds stronger than ten knots or waves higher than six inches or mastering every self rescue technique in the book is completely the choice of the user/paddler. Caveat emptor. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Thu Mar 04 1999 - 09:10:01 PST
