The Kit is just the cable and software for managing uploads. I assume when
you say the Canadian CD will upload, you mean waypoints only, no graphics.
The III+ will actually load graphics.

My Garmin 12XL accessory list has the PC kit listed for $92. The docs have
no description of the kit nor how to use it.

For $92 I assume it's more than just a connector. Sounds like a chip to
upload/download stuff into the GPS. Hopefully it comes with instructions.

I currently have DeLorme's Street Atlas that supports waypoints and the
Garmin 12XL. I was at a sailboat show in Hartford, CT over the weekend and
ordered MapTech's Newfoundland East Coast CD. This also will be able to up
load to the 12XL.

I know some members have used the PC kits. Any problems, concerns or
issues to be aware of?
