Dump the PC package and just get a data cable. Like Dan has already
mentioned, the free software is better than the stuff you can buy from
Garmin.

The latest GPS driver for SA 6.0 isn't too bad, but I like to use G7TOWin
because it will plot your route across water, something SA thinks is a bad
thing.

I don't understand how other software interfaces with SA or other mapping
software other than in an export/import mode.  Things can't be -that- open.
I'll review the packages in detail and come back in a week or two with any
additional questions.

Dan & Robert both posted interesting urls so I intend to archive the thread
for future reference in my Paddlewise section.
