I'm heading to Charleston S.C. for vation in Early April. It looks like
a lot of great water. Any suggestions on specific paddles and an
outfitters in the area. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Have a great day!

Coastal Expeditions is great. Anne, Chris and the crew are wonderful. They offer half day and full day tours upon request for groups of two or more.

Looking in my flyer that I got from them, they have a special tour planned for April 11th. Rimini Swamp day tour. "This 32 square mile cypress swamp is incredibly beautiful and less than 2 hours from Charleston." $85 w/rental, $50 w/o rental.

Pertinent info:

Shem Creek Maritime Center

PS: The Shem Creek Bar & Grill next door to them is good to, don't pass them up.

First, check with Anne & Chris at Coastal Expeditions (843-884-7684) and
get a copy of their map. Then, you've got a lot of choices:

Put in at Pinckneyville and paddle to Capers Island Wildlife Sanctuary and
vist the alligators.

Put in at Huger Landing at high tide and ride the Cooper down past 18th
century dikes and watergates and old rice fields to the 1763 chapel. Then
ride the tide back up.

Go surfing at Folly Beach.

Paddle from Remle Point to Shem Creek past the USS Yorktown.

Enjoy.
