Strip kayak builders, what varnish have you had best luck with?

My criteria are:
-UV protection
-Durablility
-compatibility with epoxy
-not overly glossy

I'm currently using Z-Spar Captains Varnish (1015). It went on pretty
easily. It has been only been on for about 2 weeks but came highly
recommended. It is very glossy though. For some better "long term" advice I
would recommend posting a message on Nich Schade's strip building BBS at:

FWIW, I don't have a strip kayak but I have used Epiphanes (spelling?) varnish
on a bunch of marine brightwork as well as my garage doors. It seems to hold
up well to the sun and salt and outlived a couple of poly finishes I tried. I
have no idea about epoxy compatibility. The gloss finish is very glossy but
they have a semi-flat too. They suggest you build up the base coats with full
gloss then switch to the flat for the finish coats. This should add to the
durability.
I bought it at boatUS and it was fairly pricy ~$20/quart plus you should get
thinner for the first couple of coats.

Sorry the following was used without epoxy, but maybe of interest for
some one.

I have used Owatrol (spelling may be wrong) Part one (oil) and part two
(varnish), this is used on sailing boats (teak decks).

Apply the oil fist till the wood doesn't soak it up any more. Sand the
boat (fine sand paper) then apply the varnish 2 or 3 layers. The big
thing about having used oil is when you crack the varnish water doesn't
get into the wood.
