It is hereby proclaimed to the PaddleWise list that a group of sea kayakers will leave Thunder Bay Ontario on June 25th and will cross out to Isle Royale. If you thought that this 17 mile crossing was big we will be launching from the southeast corner of Isle Royale a few days later to paddle 47 miles to the Keweenaw Peninsula. The aim of these crossings will be to focus attention on the environmental issues faced by Lake Superior, including the desire of Nova Group in Canada to pump 600 million liters of water out of the lake a year for export to Japan.
