LET'S EAT!

Peyton is on to something. All this talk of long distance paddling and
surging currents being discussed as a Paddlewise gathering in the Puget
Sound area is well and good, but how about a Paddlewise cook-in? No
MREs for this crowd. Let's take over Hand Island in the Broken Group in
Barkeley Sound for a couple of days and prepare our finest. "Garlic and
Ginger" Dave Kruger can give us all a lesson or two and we can sit in
the warm evening sand and watch our waistlines fill to proper
proportion.

Peyton's admonitions...
Yeah, we race sometimes down here in the bayous, but it is usually to
get
the best camp site, and be the first to have supper cooked. A check of
the judges notes reveals ......

...team 2 has a wonderful carrot-cabbage-dandelion green salad ready
for consumption with a nice merlot splash dressing.

...team 5 has 4 pounds of rice ready for its 3 team members to cover

with their choice of red beans w/ smoked sausage, crawfish etouffe, or
shrimp-crab gumbo ...hmmmm, not bad for leftovers even !!

You folks pass a good day ! ...........Peyton (Louisiana)
