Well, you didn't really describe what your needs are, other than a
folding kayak, nor your skilll levels and how you use a boat.

But the K-1 would be an excellent choice all around.  Its sexy sister,
the Khatsalano, get all the stares and attention but the K-1 is probably
the better all around boat.  Its top speed is just some 5% less than the
Khatsalano; the length added in last year's improvements have helped
there as has the finer entry into the water of the new bow.  It is
easier to assemble, particularly now that several improvements have been
made in the frame at the bow and stern, which come preattached to long
pieces as opposed to needing some tricky dexterity in lining up several
holes and a long pine, and getting ride of the welded rib cage in the
cockpit area.  Too, the new deck material helps assembly as the deck is
no longer susceptible to shrinkage that complicated assembly.

You can easy put the K-1 on edge and yet it is quite a stable boat.
