<< Here are the requested hammock specifics (many requests): The maker of the hammock, Vermont Voyageur Equipment Route 242- box 1010V Montgomery Center, VT. 05471 Phone: 803 326-4789 >> Something's amiss here. (803) is a South Carolaaaaaahna exchange. Could it be that these hammocks are actually coming from Pawley's Island, the hammock capitol of the world? An alert Paddlewiser, Sandy -------------------- I bought something called Newel Goodlife Hammock from a company in North Carolaaaaaahna a few years ago. This is a combination hammock and large bivy sack with mosquito net and rain fly. It has a heavy duty waterproof nylon type bottom, full length mosquito net, shock corded poles over the head and foot and a removable rain fly. I originally saw it in a L.L.Bean catalog but when I went to order it a year later, they had discontinued it. I think it was originally called a Blue Ridge Hammock and was imported from overseas. I did a search on the web and found this company in North Carolina that was selling them and I got one from them. A recent search didn't turn up any hits though. I tested it out at home and actually dozed off in it. I took it on a tour for field testing and broke the metal thingee that all the ropes go through the first time I went to get into it. I don't know if it was twisted or what. Fortunately I had the Timberlite in case I couldn't sleep all night in the hammock. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Thu Apr 29 1999 - 05:08:57 PDT
