Ken - RE: attaching gear to deck - Are you absolutely sure you can't secure your stuff to the deck using temporary bungies hooked into the corners of your deck bungies?? Even those el cheapo bungies sold in K-Mart or auto supply stores do a good job of that, and you don't have to mess up your deck permanently. If you insist on adding rings to the deck - NOC sells several types of glue-on D rings, in various sizes. So does GRO - and probably a half dozen other kayak outfitters. You can also get D rings from West Marine. Those aren't glue-ons, but you can easily grease 'em up and make some nice glass loops on your deck for them. an even better way of fixing non'glue-ons to a deck might be to drill the deck, secure a bolster underneath it, and bolt a shot loop of webbing to the deck (with the D ring within the loop). To me, that's less intrusive to your boat than glassing or gluing things onto the deck. - Bill Hansen *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Apr 02 1999 - 18:02:37 PST
