For those interested in making their own dry bags the basic plans are available in reprints of an early Sea Kayaker article directly from Seattle Fabrics. They have proven to be exceptionally helpful in the past, supplying fabric, webbing, buckles, appropriate thread and the basic plans -- all by mail and all at a fair price. Hint: ask if they have any discounted material, odd ends of rolls and cosmetically flawed items. In the store these are much cheaper even than the standard fabric. I make bags for everything -- tent poles, tapered tent bags for bow or stern, VHF radios, and the rest. Also color coding is easy and handy for organizing. Happy sewing.
