This is a response to the thread about securing a 
compass to your deck.

I enjoyed Clyde Sisler's post about not being able to 
drill holes in a boat hull. I felt the same way myselfa 
few years ago. Our local paddling club, the Twin Cities 
Sea Kayaking Assoc <http://www.virtualmn.com/tscka/> has 
two sea kayak modification parties each year. At these 
parties we give each other moral support as we drill 
into our kayak hulls. We do this to add towing 
components, compass, or other equipment that is attached 
to the hull. Our next one occurs on April 10.
