Northwest Skin Boat Gathering; April 24th&25th

All are welcome for a truly unique, fun weekend. This is an informal, non
commercial, free, education event. We'll have some demonstrations, and
workshops. Come share stories, building experiences, and paddling
techniques. Try out replica kayaks, umiaks, and other eclectic skin on
frame
boats. Once again, everyone, and all boats are welcome.

The location of the festival is Bowman Bay in Deception Pass State Park on
Fidalgo Island, Washington State. Bowman Bay is on the north side of
Deception Pass. The nearest town is Anacortes, approx. 10 miles north.
>From
interstate 5 follow hwy.20 going west to Deception Pass. At Pass Lake turn
right on the Rosario Road, then an immediate left into Bowman Bay. If you
cross the bridge you went too far. If you are coming from Whidby Island,
follow 20 east, cross Deception Pass Bridge. Take your first left on
Rosario
rd, and take your immediate left to Bowman Bay. If you choose to paddle
in,
Bowman Bay is a Washington Water Trails site.

People coming from Vancouver Island, BC you can take the Washington State
Ferry from Sidney, BC directly to Anacortes. With advanced notice, free
round trip transportation(with kayak's and gear) can be provided from the
ferry terminal to the gathering site(saving the car fare).

There is a first come, first serve system for the camp sites. The state
camping fee is $11.00 per night $5.00 per add. Car, There is a free
overflow
camping in our field 7 min. away.

demonstrations. Please call number below for details. This is one of the
only announcements of this gathering. Please pass the word.
