This one has been around for some time, with many different variants,
all purporting to be the "ACTUAL radio conversation".   I saw one
with the "aircraft carrier USS Missouri", for example - but the Missouri
isn't even an aircraft carrier. 

It is, of course, an Urban Legend.  While there might possibly
be some incident that started this, the facts as given here are
just plain false.
