Well, no, not that Tallulah Gorge, a little downstream. We'll be on Lake Yonah, which is the lake below Lake Tugaloo, which is formed by the Tallulah and the Chatooga Rivers. It is a gorge, or at least was until GA Power flooded it. The lake is about 4 miles long and very narrow. And since the banks are pretty much vertical, I'm sure it's very deep. Probably also chilly, around 55-60F (Deep guffaws heard from the West and North, shivers from BD). Some friends are having a picnic at their cabin, which is inaccessible except by boat. They're going to run a powerboat shuttle for the other guests, but we're going to paddle in from the boat ramp. Should be about 2 miles give or take a furlong. Everyone is bring a dish for a potluck. We're going to make muffelettas, because they'll fit in the hatches well ;) Steve -- Test Scoring & Reporting Services Sometimes, you never can University of Georgia always tell what you Athens, GA 30602-5593 least expect the most. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed May 26 1999 - 13:27:14 PDT
