Hmm....I agree with your advice,Steve, with one quibble. 600mg ibuprofen twice a day is quite adequate ( especially for a woman , or someone weighing under 160lbs). I would recommend taking something like cimetidine (Tagament or Pepcid) an hour before hand to avoid stomach irritation. Additionally ibuprofen (as well as relieving pain) is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, whose greatest effect occurs over a period of days (the anti-inflammatory effect). Also.. the 7/8th ribs anchor some of the muscles which permit forward rotation of the shoulder when the humerus is at 90 degrees to the trunk, as wellas lateral flexion of the trunk towards the pelvis. I would recommend a "test drive" , before attempting really vigourous maneuvors (sic) , like rolling. Still 5 weeks is a good "healing period", and I wish her well.. :) >At 11:17 PM 6/28/99 -0400, Barbdoerr_at_aol.com wrote: >>Over the weekend I broke two ribs (the 7th and 8th on the right side).
