I feel for you; <<snip>> Barbara .... To paraphrase my grandma, "I wouldn't do that if I were you, honey !" I bear-hugged a rock pretty hard a few years ago and had a severely bruised rib cage up high under the arm. Wasn't broken, just bruised with that eggplant color. Turned all sorts of colors over the next month or so. It was real interesting getting off the river that day as even taking a full lungfull of air was just about all the pain I wanted. Hot-tub time finally got rid of the soreness, but it took a while. If I were you I'd try some "gentle" swimming in about 3 weeks to "see how it feels" and then go from there. You'll know at that time what the right thing to do is .....Steve may be right with the "Cuervo-Cure" ....it won't help you paddle, but it might make you feel better about missing some paddle time ! Here's to a speedy recovery .......Peyton (Louisiana) ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it.
