Help, When I paddle for more than an hour my footballs really hurt. I paddle a Pygmy Coho with bulkheads and Keepers foot braces and I wear thin water shoes. I have paddled a WW boat that had no foot braces, only a foam bulkhead and it felt very cushy. Has anyone ever modified a SK that has foot braces to a bulkhead type foot brace? My existing bulkhead is probably 8" or more from my foot position. Is there a way of mounting a foam (maybe glued to plywood) bulkhead to the existing foot braces? It would be nice to be able to adjust the bulkhead with the foot braces. I could remove the existing foot braces and build the bulkhead out to the correct position but, I would only work for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you really want a WW-type bulkhead to rest your feet on, Dagger or Perception would be happy to sell you one. Remove the footpegs, plug the holes. Then drill 2 new holes on each side about mid thigh. This is where the bulkhead straps anchor. It will be completely adjustable. Stick your head inside an Overflow or something and you'll see how it works. Then again, some thicker shoe soles would be a whole lot easier. I use foam "footbraces" glued to the hull and bulkhead. I used two pieces of minincell about 4x8x12. I used a form tool to get the shape of the hull and then cut and sanded the blocks to conform. I used 3M Marine adhesive to bond the foam to the hull. I have another minicell pad in the center for my heels, and this gets replaced every few months as it wears out. cya -----Original Message----- From: owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net [mailto:owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net]On Behalf Of Larry C. Or you could glue closed cell foam to the footpegs. Barbara, in Moss Beach California, where it's 60 degrees all summer long. __________________________________________________________________________ At 09:29 PM 6/14/99 -0400, Steve Cramer wrote: >On Mon, 14 Jun 1999, Larry C. wrote: > >> When I paddle for more than an hour my footballs really hurt.
