Hello, I am new to the list and a new Yakboard owner. I'm guess I'm
looking for yakboard owners, new to the sport of kayaking like myself, or
more experienced kayakers who may have started on yakboards. Looking for
advice, ups and downs of the Yakboard, etc. I've only put it in 3 times,
all on flat water so far. I'm new to the sport and I'm hooked and having a
ball. My big desire is to get into sea kayaking, touring some day, but I'm
taking it slow. Comments are appreciated.

Paddling along through fog so thick that only one's thoughts are
visible, your reverie is abruptly shattered by the ancient cry of a great
blue heron as she lifts uncertainly from the brilliant blue of a
mussel-shell beach witnessed only by the brooding, wet spruce....your
passage home seems as much back through time as it does through space.

Hi Susie, and welcome to the list!
I assume you are referring to the Ocean Kayaks Yak Board. If so you
will find a number of people on this list paddle sit-on-tops. They are
a class in their own right, but usually lumped in with kayaks.
I also live in NH, with a little more experience paddling than you but
not as much as I would like. There are several on the list from this
area, so you should be able to get someone to paddle with. If our
schedules match I would be happy to paddle with you. I work Wed through
Sat, with frequent plans on Sundays.
This is a truly enjoyable group, I think you will get all the help you
want here. And more than a little humor, too!

Mike

I'm not sure I read all the posts regarding this topic but Ocean Kayaks has just come out with a new animal the Rrrapido, it's an improvement on the Yak Board, it's the hottest "sit-on-top" on ocean waves, for people 180 lbs and under. For people over 180 lbs and right up to about 230 lbs., the Wilderness Systems Kaos is made to order.
