I've been messing around with my PFD since I discovered how useless it is, and have figured out that it's just a bit too long. I'm more hourglass shaped than pear shaped, but even so my circumference where the so-called waist strap hits me, just about at my hips, is a good 5-6 inches bigger than any part of my body above that spot. No wonder it wanted to come right off over my head! A couple of people have suggested I check out Lotus Designs, since they design PFDs specifically for woman. Can anyone provide contact info for Lotus Designs? Do they have a website or an 800 number? Thanks Su Penn *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************

PFDs (that's the SK version of the Lola - extra pockets, reflective tape and such), and love it. I am not aware that I am wearing the thing while paddleing. Stays put when I'm in the water - no shifting or sliding around. These things are infinetly (sp?) adjustable, and only come in 2 sizes - Sm/Med and Lg/Xlg. I think that so many guys are using them that Lotus has re-labeled the thing as a unisex model. It's been a while, but I think there website is at http://www.lotusdesigns.com Don Herring dherring_at_yoda.fdt.net *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
I second Don on the Lotus "Lola" model. When I bought it over the phone the guy said alot of men wear it. It's good for us shorter guys. I'm only 5'6" - but I have a barrel chest and it still fits well. I just wish they would give it a more masculine name and take the damn flower off the back! It's denting my macho image! - Scott Don Herring wrote: > > > > > I'm a guy who has one of the Lotus L'Ocean (sp?) Maybe they should make the same thing in 'manly' colors and call it the 'Chester'. Can't take the flower off, though, that's a Lotus. Actually the Lola and the Locean both come in at least 3 sizes: x-small, sml/med, lg/xl. But I would find a shop that has them in stock. It's been my experience that if you order directly from Lotus -- no matter when you place your order-- you won't get anything 'til next winter. They just can't seem to keep up with demand, and have very little understanding of customer service. It's too bad really, since they have such an good product. my two cents, Shoni "The only thief of dreams is fear" <snip> >a guy who has one of the Lotus L'Ocean (sp?)
