There are several articles about the BWCAW storm in this morning's Minneapolis Star Tribune, including one about the use of cell phones in the wilderness. See http://www.startribune.com/ and http://www.duluthnews.com/. Estimates are that approximately 17.5 million trees were blown down, affecting about 25% of the BWCAW. I heard on the radio this morning that on some portages trees are stacked up to ten feet high. Not many people are changing their plans, however; many are going ahead with their BWCAW vacations despite the destruction.
