Hi Irene,
I have to echo what Steve Jernigan wrote-- I work for a precast concrete
company, so it's "What I Do" when I'm not paddling, or more accurately,
it's what I do to finance paddling and gadgets.

I wanted to give you some reassurance and some more detail about his
suggestion but not sound like a "me too" on the list!

If you drill, you'll probably need a 1/2" diameter hammerdrill (can
usually be rented) and drill the 1 1/2" hole. With a 1/2" hole, you can
then insert a "Red Head" type drive-in anchor that will accept a normal
threaded 1/4" eye bolt. If and when you move, you can just screw out
the eyebolts and the anchors will remain flush, and barely noticeable in
the ceiling.

Or, his epoxy suggestion was a good one--just use some duct tape to hold
the ring to the ceiling while it cures.
