They have a pair of nice, wide plastic wheels on the back. Because the pedals on the front wheel are fixed, it's easy to wear a flat spot on the front wheel and then many people throw these out. The rear wheels, meantime, are just fine. Good on the sand (although they annoy the neighbors when you're wheeling through the neighborhood). Good luck.
