My husband has replaced the shock cord with 1 inch webbing and Fastex buckles on our Feathercraft K-2. He's also rigged up water bottle holders made of webbing that clip into the deck webbing. One for the front, one for the back. The webbing can cinch very tight, yet you can release it quickly.
