Really appreciate the effort put forward to help Maligiaq Padilla get into
the Quebec race.

QCC has generously agreed to supply one of their new Q600 Kevlar kayaks and
will ship it to Montreal. It will arrive at 12:00 five hours before Maliqiaq
arrives. Not a racing boat but should be right up there in an open water
race like this. This is particularly fortunate as I culd not find any decent
boats
available despite over three hours on the phone calling
everyone I knew in Quebec. (OK, not a lot of people but what does an
Ontarian know about Quebec).

I have arranged with a dealer of canoes and kayaks in Quebec, La Randonnee
(hope I have that spelled right) to pick up the boat and, hopefully meet
Maligiaq at the bus.

I am having trouble finding accomodations but maybe something will turn up.

I also need someone to help Maligiaq get around (he speaks little English
and probably no French). Unfrotunately i will be in Nova Scotia for that
period so can't help much.

If anyone has any bright ideas let me know.

Cheers,
John Winters

I just thought I'd mention something else. I think I read that
Maligiaq is coming into Albany and then making his way up to
Quebec. I don't know which route is being taken but it would
be a very good idea to avoid the Woodstock area this weekend.
Horendous traffic jams are predicted for the Utica area.
