I got this idea from (I think) Nigel Dennis at Canoecopia in Madison Wisc. and I can tell you that it works, but takes a partners help and is easiest when paddling in groups of three or more. It worked for my trio when a lady friend really had to go and we were quite a ways from shore. The three boats linked up parallel and held on while the lady on the right DRY-exited her cockpit and shimmied onto the back of the two occupied boats. Being married gents (and not to her), My guy partner and I faced forward singing 99 bottles of beer at the top our lungs so she wouldn't be embarrassed by any noises she might make in our company. Meanwhile she sat on a paddle stretched length-wise across our boats, rested her feet by the rudders or off to the sides (I didn't see) and went in the space between the two stern decks. With practice, three attached boats can make for a very stable pee platform allowing for stable disrobing and waste displacement. Two boats work, but with the person in the cockpit leaning over an empty boat, it can get skittish. It's like potty training all over again. Oh yeah, we occasionally refer to the stern as "the poop deck" and simply require that you make sure no trace of your waste sticks to my boat. Hope everthing comes out Ok :) Phil Huck thekayaker_at_yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
