I can't remember why, but at one time I considered putting a thin layer of rubber (like a piece of a bike inner tube) on the pedal surface. This would limit slip. Perhaps it's because the footwear I had last year slipped and the stuff I use now doesn't. Anyway, I'm pleased with the Seaward pedals now.
