German form follows function..... I drive a VW Beetle ['75] and paddle a Klepper One,[ '90 ] and would you believe it; the boat folds down beautifully into the car for travelling. The back seat is just wide enough to fit the longerons bag, the hull bag fits into the boot [trunk!] nicely etc etc. Sometimes I think Ferdinand Porsche had a Klepper in his garage when he designed the Beetle. But I do admit I travel locally with the boat assembled and on a trailer.... Note the similarity...both the car and the boat have evolved over DECADES! of thoughtful design modification. Both are ultra reliable, easily fixed, ... and compared with other cars and kayaks, rather slow! But in this day and age it is NICE to be a little retro sometimes....
