This sounds like a John Winters joke, but a British kayaker is planning to teach the East Greenlanders to kayak. Quoting from the London Times Web site: "The new expedition, which will take boats built to a traditional Greenland design by Nigel Dennis Kayaks, of Anglesey, aims to restore to the people of eastern Greenland a key part of their culture. The Inuit there still hunt seal but use rifles and boats with outboard motors. Mr Burnell said that they tended to see the kayak as dangerous, a view that the team hopes to overcome by demonstrating the modern unsinkable versions." The complete article can be found at http://www.the-times.co.uk/news/pages/Times/frontpage.html?3114961 I wonder what the Greenland National Kayak League will think of this? For that matter, does anyone have any information about what happened at their August meeting regarding the ACA and Nordkapp trust certification programs? Thanks to our local Welsh kayaker, Jeff Morgan, for pointing this article out to me.
