I suspect that those who have a problem are the ones that are constantly taking the knife in and out of the sheath (to cut bagels, spread peanut butter, whatever) and are wearing down the knobby things that hold the handle into the sheath. I assume that my rescue knife is strictly a rescue knife and leave it in the sheath at all times.
