Well, then, that's good. This weekend I'll be enjoying the extended summer weather at Drake's Estero, north of San Francisco, watching the seals, herons, egrets, and bat rays in protected, calm water in completely unspoiled surroundings. >From there I'll head on up to the Pacific Northwest to see if any traces of summer remain. Perhaps I'll get to visit the Nisqually area north of Olympia and see how wild the wildlife is. Perhaps a cup of peppermint tea to warm me in the early morning light and then off through the landscape of cool water and evergreen trees. No talk of ski racks replacing kayak racks from me. The season is still young. Adventure awaits. (Now does anybody know how to get to the Department of Fish & Wildlife Luhr Boat Ramp near Olympia? Instead of those "gas-food-lodging next right" signs, we need "kayak put-in, next right". If I find myself at Mt. Rainier then I took the wrong exit.) jerry.
