It's caused because your software isn't recognizing the "line feed" characters embedded in email messages. You may want to try one of the freeware/shareware dedicated email packages that are widely available. Both of the "BIG TWO" browsers are notorious resource pigs and if your primary usage is email you'll likely be fine using a dedicated email program. Eudora is probably one of the most widely used "free" email packages - and I'd put money (my $.02 <g>) on it that it takes care of your line feed problem also.
