Blue jeans?! ACK! Never is right. You don't want fleece, although I like
fleece under nylon if I'm going to stay wet. Well, really, I like Fuzzy
Rubber if the air and water are cold-cool.

Anyhow, if you're determined to wear wool, here's an alternative that's
both chic and economical. Drop by your local Salvation Army/StVincent de
Paul/etc thrift store and look for a medium weight wool suit. I'd suggest
something in a medium brown, so it won't show mud so bad, perhaps with a
pinstripe or subtle plaid that picks up the color of your boat. Around
here, the suit will cost you much less than $20, and you can give the
jacket back to them or hand it to the first homeless person you see under
a bridge. Even better would be a 3-piece suit; keep the vest for core temp
warmth.
