[Paddlewise] The Optimum Kayak

FYI, Andy Knapp's new book, _The Optimum Kayak_, is now on the shelves.
It is not another how-to-paddle book, of which there is already a
plethora, but a guide to choosing, maintaining, repairing, and
customizing whitewater and sea kayaks and their accessories. I haven't
had my copy long enough to more than skim it, but it looks like it is
chock-full of useful information. (One thing I would add, Andy, is the
advisability of applying 303 to VCP-type hatch covers.) 

Also, Andy gives Paddlewise a full paragraph in the acknowledgments and
lists it in the handy "Resources" chapter, which contains a bibliography
and contact information for many manufacturers and other resources.

The book is published by Ragged Mountain Press, and the ISBN is
0-07-038298-0.
