I noticed back when camera's were being talked about that several people

mentioned they shoot only slides.
My question: does anyone own a scanner that will also do slides?

I have an HP PhotoSmart scanner, which scans slides and negatives at
resolutions up to 2400 dpi and prints up to 5 inches by 7 inches at 300
dpi. It's a good unit for what I paid for it ($300). The biggest problem
is noise in the dark areas at maximum resolution, but I haven't noticed
it at the lower resolutions that are used for posting on the Web or for
making 4-by-6-inch prints. When I was creating a brochure for my club,
it was very handy to be able to select a slide from my collection, scan
it on the spot, convert it to grayscale in Paint Shop Pro, and insert it
into the brochure's Word document. Later, I also purchased an Epson
Stylus Photo 750, which completed (for now!) my digital darkroom.

There are some better quality units out there for more money. See the
