[Paddlewise] (off topic)slide scanner question

I noticed back when camera's were being talked about that several people 
mentioned they shoot only slides.
My question: does anyone own a scanner that will also do slides?

There is _NO_ place or person in this area, as far as I can track down 
anyway, that has one. To get anything scanned, I have to send off the 
slides and get a print made. As you all know, unless you pay the $$ the 
print will come back only a slight resimulance to the original, and just 
doesn't take a good scan.

Anyone had any exsperance with the Acer 620 "T" series scanner?

Right now I am still using W3.1, soon to take the upgrade plunge(old 75 
pentium).
