Here are a few advantages of winter wilderness camping Down South:

1. There is little competition for campsites, the RV's
can't make it there besides there are no electric hookups.
2. There are not as many mosquitoes or other noxious insects.
3. Coon's still active, but are still hunted
4. Your beer doesn't get as hot if left out side
6. There is plenty of clean, fresh water around you in
    milk jugs around camp
7. You can get by with a tarp instead of a tent, at least,
in the woods but why would you? Some thing might crawl
in the sleeping bag with you.
8. You can tow your pack in the mud instead of carrying
it if it is frozen solid enough.
9. You can go places on that you can't in summer, such
as marshes and swamps, and the bugs might not carry you away
as long as you stay away from the stills and growers.
10. Animal tracks are easier to see, the good ole boys are still
hunting so the game runs a lot
11. Green-covered terrain is beautiful not many leaves fall.
