Milo,

Sorry. I misspelled the name. The site is below.

Sandy Kramer, please note. Stephenson is an equal opportunity nude
site, i.e. models are both baron y hembra, that's male and female for
you non-Spanish speakers.

I'd already written to you for the URL (couldn't find it) as soon as I read
the original one. You knew I'd "bite" on that one, didn't you!

For all you people without access to the Internet who are wondering about the
nude models, I mean the ultralight tents, I'll just point out that all the
"good" parts are delicately unavailable for view. A hand here, a body turned
there, but, yes, they ARE NEKKID.

Oh, about the tents....interesting, especially if your budget runs between
$460 and $850 without the extra dollars for optional accessories. They are
not self-standing. I, for one, like to have the grubby little catalogs in my
hand so I will probably order one ($!).

We have owned three Stephenson tents over the years -- just bought a new
3RS for family backpacking and ski touring. Their great advantage is
weight and the special materials Jack uses such as the silicone coated
material that is mildew free and will not emulsify and is much stronger
per weight than the urathane coated stuff. They are also huge inside.
But for kayaking other tentage is probably preferable where weight is not
a prime consideration.

BTW Sandy et al, the original catalogue was a "fully revealing" document
without any attempt to cover "certain" parts. Indeed, George was a common
topic of discussion among female climber friends a number of years ago.
George of course sewed very nice tents and I'm sure his in-the-buff
appearances were only incidental in stimulating the discussions.

This wondering if they are worth it: YES. We are all getting older and
weight becomes evermore a problem. The resale on a used Stephenson tent,
if you can find one, is exceptionally good as they are usually well cared
for. Our main climbing tent in the Sierras for almost 10 years was a 2RS
weighing an honest 3 lb. 2 oz dirty. Our new 3RS big enough for 4 weighs
4 lbs. 11 ozs.

Happy tenting to all..

Well, there was a few interesting and revealing shots missed by a cover up!
8-)

The website is very informative, lots of material to read through. The
products looked expensive but well thought out.

I only went to the website to read the articles, I did not really look at
the pictures...... 8-)

Seriously, pictures aside, the stie is worth a vist to read the articles.

Later...
