Current Design boats, the Caribou S, Gulfstream and Slipstream use this system. So with the boats in the rental fleet I dribble `locktite' along the exposed parts of the wire, in both positions. This turns the woven wire into the equivalent of a solid rod. It doesn't affect the movement of the wire, but it does prevent renters from bending the wire and I'm sure saves a lot of repair time.
