Salamander makes an excellent tow belt (not cheap). It has two lines: a
short 13-foot line for towing in calm conditions, and a 33 foot line for
conditions in which the short line might result in collisions between tower
and towee. Both lines come with carabiners for quick hookup and release.
The belt has an airline-type quick release buckle with a wooden ball
attached to the buckle to make it easier to locate and grasp with
hurried/cold fingers. I think they call the system the "Keelhauler Pro."
