...realizing that I am violating the principle in spirit and letter.....this may help anyway.  Simply highlight the passage you would like to quote (for context) with a left click of the mouse and a drag , and press, (mash --if you are south of the Mason Dixon line) 'Central' +C (for clip, I suppose).
        Next, on the reply you are concocting press/mash 'Central' + V (for velcro).....and *Wallah*, the quotable snip magically appears on your reply.     I know this is leftover tuna for most of you, but I just learned it.
