Hello Paddlewisenhiemers; I didn't die (came close once or twice) and didn't go back to the straight life (gawd forbid). I paddled all summer in northern Maine working my way as far 'south' as Mount Desert Island (Acadia National Park). I may have overdone things just a bit because I spent October recovering from a hernia operation. Been back on the road and after some minor adventures on the Chesapeake Bay ended up in the Smoky Mountains for a few weeks of hiking. I wasn't allowed to do any serious windy type paddling and I don't know how to do anything else but hike so the mountains seemed a good idea to get away from it all again. I was having trouble getting on the list but that seems to be resolved now. Thanx Jackie and Bob! The web site is all to date with all the trip summaries and reports and lots of photos. I just got to northern North Carolina and will let the weather drive me south. The forecast is for nights in the mid to upper 30's. I can do that for a little while and then I want something warmer. I'll be back online in the new millennium. Hope it brings you all lots of joy and super good paddling.
