Bob, Pressure on the carpal area can be a risk factor for carpal tunnel syndrome. So it is possible that wrist gaskets could be a contributing cause or aggrivate CTS. As with most injuries it is next to impossible to give a definitive answer about the contribution of risk factors without observing other activities and paddling style, etc. When I do ergonomic risk assessments at work we have a team that includes a physician, a nurse and an industrial hygienist(me) doing the assessment.
